Our Troops, Our Brothers
Your Chapter Can Help
There are many things that chapters can do to show their support
for the troops and rally within their communities. Following is a list of ideas that your
chapter can carry out.
- Volunteer at a local Veterans Hospital.
- Collect donations to send to our troops. What should I collect?
- Start a letter-writing campaign.
- Wrap yellow ribbons around trees.
- Have members of the community sign greeting cards to send to the troops.
- Donate new American flags to replace worn ones in the community.
- Write letters of support to military families in your community.
- Pass out small yellow ribbons that people can wear to show support for our
troops.
- Organize a prayer service or candlelight vigil.
- Volunteer to serve refreshments at a local support group for military families.
- Donate food and toiletries to a man or woman with a family whose spouse is
overseas.
- Organize a send-off or parade for a unit in your area that is activated or
deployed.
- Plant a tree and dedicate it to the men and women serving our country.
- Conduct a devotional service at a local memorial for war veterans. Place flags
or wreaths on the site.
